The Management Team  Walter F. Jones – Chairman & Chief Executive OfficerMr. Jones is the founding Chairman of the Board and CEO of WestStar, starting the firm in 2000. He is the firm’s majority shareholder. Walt is responsible for all aspects of Corporate Business Development, Strategy, Finance and Operations. Kathleen Murphy-Zimpel – President Ms. Zimpel was a founder of WestStar and is the President. She also served as executive vice president and senior vice president. She is a shareholder of the firm, and her role presently includes oversight of the production of all divisions and branches as well as directing the operations and processing teams. She continues to service her own long time client base, and is active in training and coaching new sales personnel to help accelerate their knowledge base and loan production. Roger W. Jones – Executive Vice President Mr. Jones has held several senior posts for WestStar since joining the firm as it was organizing in 2000. Currently, he heads the secondary marketing team, in charge of all marketing pricing, flow and bulk loan sales, investor relations. Roger also oversees the recruiting, training and retention for loan production staff for both the retail and wholesale teams. Dave Baer -- Senior Vice President Mr. Buscemi is currently the Director of Secondary Marketing. Phil joined WestStar in the summer of 2008. Phil’s extensive financial industry knowledge combined with his experience with all organizational functions, including business development, human resources, and operations is aiding new found growth for WestStar. He has brought his wealth of skills in creating visionary strategies and managing ongoing changes and infused these skills into our company. Florangel Pernia– Chief Financial Officer Florangel directs the company’s financial statements and works with our independent CPA auditors to insure WestStar achieves compliance for all stated, federal, and government regulations. She supervises the performance of the entire accounting team, financial performance of the entire company, and financial aspects of all the divisions and branches. Florangel has controlled the annual operating budget and has made strategic decisions to reduce cost and insure the company’s profitability. She directly assists the C.E.O. in formulating action plans and achieving the company’s planning and direction. Florangel is instrumental is keeping successful business relationships with our warehouse lenders. She also manages the Human Resources Department and assists the Board of Directors in making key decisions for the company. Angela Watkins – Controller Mrs. Watkins has grown with WestStar Mortgage since its founding in capacities with increased responsibility. Prior to serving as Controller, she was Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Production, Loan Processing Manager, Finance Administrator and Loan Processor. Her focus has been to develop improved workflow and implement policies/procedures to improve our business practices. Catherine Klunder-Vice President of Operations Mrs. Klunder is currently the Vice President of Operations. Cathy’s experience and leadership dedicates her to oversee all aspects of the mortgage operations of the entire company. She primarily impacts and controls the closing, post closing, and insuring departments. She also assists in the operations of the processing and underwriting departments. Cathy’s key object is to also disseminate information on investors, government agencies and relay that information to all departments and staff. Cathy works with all investors and government agency request for compliance. Robert Bryce– Vice President, Director of Branch Development and Production Mr. Bryce is currently Vice President and Director of Branch Development and Production. Robert’s industry knowledge, dedication, integrity, and devotion to perfection and customer satisfaction are the qualities that exemplify what a WestStar Loan Officer should be and are the precise qualities that he looks for and instills in all that join the WestStar team. Robert’s primary goal at WestStar is to spread our mission and vision nationwide. Robert’s key objectives include finding, recruiting, and indoctrinating the best candidates to become loan officers, branch managers, and branch offices under the WestStar Lending Network. Tasha Faison-Hill– Director of Human Resources Mrs. Faison-Hill is a dedicated and focused Human Resources Director. Her mission at WestStar is to assist the management team in implementing new processes through the HR department to demonstrate to the employees that success can be achieved with hard work, skill development, and sound leadership. Tasha processes all new hires, performs all back ground checks, retains employee records, maintains employee time off system, time and labor management, and prepares the commissions for both the retail and wholesale divisions. Erik Darm – Director of Information Technology Mr. Darm serves as technology and facilities manager reporting to the C.E.O. He has been a major contributor to company’s increased profitability by establishing consistent software/hardware standards to support the firm’s growth. Erik oversees all IT functions including administration of network users including on site employees and all remote branch locations. Tasks include administering user profiles and email accounts, software installation on all new technology equipment, administer vendor relationships and telecommunications systems, manage 15 servers, plus configure and manage 2 Citrix servers, plus oversee the corporate headquarters facility.   |
